Why does the time of day matter for paragliding?
A paraglider has no engine, so the flight depends on the wind and on rising warm air (thermals). Over the course of a day, both change quite noticeably:
Early morning: the ground is still cold, the air is stable and the wind is usually light.
Late morning to early afternoon: the sun heats the mountainsides, thermals grow stronger and the air becomes more "lively".
Late afternoon: the sun weakens, the air calms down again and the wind is usually steadier.

A favourite time for many: skies are usually high and clear, with ripening rice or buckwheat flowers starting to bloom. Mornings may bring a thin mist in the Tam Sơn valley. Both mornings and late afternoons are lovely.
Winter (roughly December–February)
Early mornings are cold, often with mist and fog blanketing the valley — a great chance for cloud chasing, though on some days you'll need to wait for the clouds to clear. It gets dark early, so the afternoon window is shorter. Dress warmly, as it's colder up high than on the ground.
Spring (roughly March–April)
Mild weather, with plum and peach blossoms in bloom. Some days bring drizzle and high humidity. Mid-morning is usually the most stable slot, once the mist has lifted.
Summer (roughly May–August)
Hot at midday, with frequent showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Mornings are usually the safest choice; late afternoons are beautiful when there are no storms. The lush green rice terraces look stunning from above.
You want to chase clouds: book an early-morning slot, ideally in autumn or winter. The 15–22 minute long cloud-chasing paramotor flight gives you extra time to enjoy the sea of clouds.

A paramotor has an engine, so it depends less on thermals, and it takes off from the flat field by the river.
