Paragliding with young children in Hà Giang is entirely possible: at the Quản Bạ flying site, children from 3 years old can fly tandem with a pilot, with no experience needed, just normal health. Parents take turns flying while the one on the ground looks after the kids and films for the other. Pick the right time, prepare your child mentally and tell the team in advance what they need to know, and the flight will become a memory the whole family treasures. Below are the flying requirements for each family member and practical advice.
Who in the family can fly?
Children: from 3 years old
The team accepts children from 3 years old. Each child is a separate passenger, flying tandem with their own pilot, seated in a harness, wearing a helmet, with the pilot controlling the entire flight. Children do not share a seat with their parents.
Beyond age, the most important thing is that your child wants to fly. Don't force them. An excited 5-year-old will have far more fun than a frightened 10-year-old.
Adults and heavier guests
- No experience needed, just normal health and the ability to walk and run a few steps (for paragliding).
- Guests over 90 kg, please let us know in advance so the team can choose a suitable pilot and wing.
- Please give your correct weight when booking; the team relies on it to assign a pilot and the right safety equipment for you.
Grandparents and older guests
What matters is health, not age. Many older guests choose paramotor because it takes off from flat ground and only needs a few gentle running steps. If grandparents would rather not fly, the landing field by the river is a lovely spot to sit, watch and photograph the grandchildren.
Health conditions to report in advance
Please tell the team when you book if anyone in the family:
- Has a heart condition.
- Is pregnant.
- Has recently had surgery.
- Has epilepsy.
If someone takes regular medication, note it in the special requests section so the pilot can advise. Anyone prone to motion sickness or dizziness should choose the standard package, eat lightly before flying and tell the pilot so they can fly smoothly. More details are on the flight safety page.
